--Lab 3 - Equalized 16-QAM Demodulator including the Adaptive
Filter - The receiver architecture provides subsystems demonstrating
adaptive channel equalization and carrier tracking on a random QAM data
source. Hardware
in the form of advanced baseband chipsets will be required to handle the
high data throughput while consuming little power; diversity receive
circuitry may be required to handle the 16-QAM of HSDPA; and increased
handset memory will also be needed. In his presentation on "Traffic Capacity of
FP and DFB Optical Return Systems," Vladimir Abramkin will evaluate
upstream system performance of an HFC plant with 16-QAM and 64-QAM
signals in the lab as well as in the field. |
