Herbicides and pesticides include 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid, sodium arsenite, warfarin, and carbaryl.
A New Zealand study compared incidence of congenital anomalies in specific regions during years of spraying with 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4,5-T) (1972-1976) with that in years of no spraying (1959-1965).
The three most common mixtures were Agent Orange [esters of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) and 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4,5-T)], Agent White (triisopropanolamine salts of 2,4-D and picloram), and an arsenical called Agent Blue (cacodylic acid).
