Systems relying more on primary health care than specialist and
hospital care were more 'efficient, cost-effective, and
accessible', and resulted in 'healthier Australians',
according to ADGP CEO Kate Carnell. The ADGP has called on every practice to take on a practice
nurse, and hopes its report will raise awareness of the potential
financial benefits. Dr Rob Walters, ADGP chairman, said it was worrying that some 12-
and 13-year-old girls reported drinking eight or more alcopops a night
(the equivalent of about 12 nips of whisky or six glasses of wine). |
