ADPM has been selected to finance, build and manage this new terminal jointly with the Mauritian public company AML (Airport of Mauritius Ltd).
Aeroports de Paris Management (ADPM), established in 1990, is a 100% subsidiary of Aeroports de Paris Group dedicated to airport management and investments in airport management companies Jean-Marie Chevalier is the Chief Executive Officer of ADPM.
According to the agreement, ADPM will help develop Beijing airport into an important hub, promote an increase in the airport's commercial receipts, and step up the quality of services offered by the airport.
ADPM already has important accords with airports in Portugal and Indonesia, and says that it is actively pursuing management contracts which, it says, are expected to be put up for bid by at least 50 middle-level airports throughout the world in the next few years.
The deal has been struck through ADP's ADPM subsidiary, which it owns jointly with French construction group GTM.
Under the agreement, ADPM now becomes a fully-fledged consultant to the management company that operates Beijing airport.
In order to bring about the latter objective, ADPM says that it will organise training seminars for airport management in both Beijing and Paris.
An ADPM spokesman said that the company was keen on developing Beijing as passenger activity is expected to at least double by the year 2008.
