In contrast, the older AHCP is a garrison-based model which worked well in peacetime, but fell short of the mark with the onset of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. AHCP primarily provides coverage in northern and central Illinois to commercial groups, state and federal employees, Illinois Department of Public Aid enrollees, and federal Medicare HMO enrollees. AHCP has provided quality health care for almost two decades and today serves more than 150,000 subscribers in Illinois, Indiana and Arkansas. |
