In 2004, AMM initiated the Strategic Scrap Supplier Program to
ensure future scrap volume and quality requirements for Alcoa's
businesses. The results of that period of
studies, especially those relating to nonlinear aggregating, were
largely heuristic and helped to complete in 1990 the development of a
system design and an AMM model encompassing all forms of strategic
actions of armed forces. According to AMM, manufacturers were successful in enacting similar
restrictions in the early 1970s, though at other times they have been
turned back in their efforts to impede the flow of scrap. |
