Riggins offered tractor lessons, was active in the Sulphur Springs
PTA, raised money for the American Field Service Program, took in a
foreign exchange student, belonged to the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial
Hospital Circle, hosted the Home Town Jamboree Barbecue, raised money to
move the Mitchell Adobe to Heritage Park in Newhall and rebuild it,
worked with the Sulphur Springs School District and formed the Prairie
Dogs 4-H Club of Santa Clarita. The American Field Service (AFS) is another nonprofit organization
that has sponsored exchange programs for high school students for almost
50 years. He was president of the Board of
Trustees of Colorado Academy, a Trustee of American Field Service (AFS),
a member of the Young Presidents Organization and his Chapter's
chairman, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Chief Executives
Organization. |
