The American, English, and Pakistani blood that flows
through the veins of the younger generation of Amirs was received from
their mothers and should be irrelevant to any calculation of their
Sharifian pedigree. Pasadena attorney Bob Garrett told the
Business Journal that his conclusion stems from the bank's actions
in connection with a separate line of credit -- which BofA established
for the Amirs -- to provide additional funds that might be needed to
complete the project's interior build-out. In
imitation of the amirs they set themselves above the people, mistreated
their former subordinates, and, like the former multazims, beat or
imprisoned their fellaheen for failure to meet the exorbitant taxes they
imposed. |
