In describing the development of amphibious warfare between the wars, Warren mentions two manuals that resulted directly from the study of Gallipoli, The Tentative Manual for Landing Operations and Landing Operations Doctrine,
"Amphibiosity," a slang term denoting the broadest and most inclusive sense of amphibious warfare activities and techniques, confers special status on two elements.
He was selected to attend Amphibious Warfare School in 1979 and following its completion in 1980, reported to 2nd Marine Division.
