While there is no formal accreditation for medical transcriptionists, you will discover that there is voluntary accreditation that is available from the Approval Committee for Certificate Programs and the American Health Information Management Association.
Although formal accreditation is not required for medical transcription programs, those programs which have obtained voluntary accreditation by the Approval Committee for Certificate Programs (AACP) are highly recommended.
