The Asian Football Confederation postponed home-and-away qualifiers for the 2004 Athens Olympics between Hong Kong and Sri Lanka, and Taiwan against Singapore, citing concern over the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome outbreak. Among this year's participants are the winners of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Al Ittihad of Saudi Arabia; Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) Champions League, Al Ahly of Egypt; CONCACAF 2005 Champions Cup, Deportivo Saprissa of Costa Rica; CONMEBOL 2005 Copa Libertadores, Sao Paulo FC of Brazil; OFC 2005 Club Championship, Sydney FC of Australia; and the UEFA 2005 Champions League, Liverpool FC of England. FOX Sports World recently expanded its soccer programming line-up to include the Brazilian and Colombian leagues, plus will offer all the Asian Football Confederation tournaments such as the Asian Cup Winners Cup, Asian Super Cup, Asian Club Championship, the Afro-Asian Nations Cup and the Asian Women's Championship soccer events. |
