Last April, Los Angeles lost one of its most distinguished corporate citizens: The Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) -- which employed hundreds of Angelenos and provided leadership, volunteerism and funding to various organizations throughout the state - was acquired by BP, the international oil company (formerly known as British Petroleum and BP Amoco). The donation comes less than a month after the philanthropic arm of downtown-based Atlantic Richfield Company announced that it would contribute $10 million toward the stalled project. Wiscomb served in a number of different financial capacities with Atlantic Richfield Company ("ARCO") for 22 years culminating in his position as Vice President of Finance and Administration of ARCO's Australian coal operations. |
