This includes Agilent's proprietary multimode ion source, which is the only source on the market to provide simultaneous electrospray ionization (ESI) and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) data. APPI is an important complement to electrospray ionization (ESI) and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) by expanding the range and classes of compounds that can be analyzed, including nonpolar molecules that are not easily ionized by ESI or APCI, and by exhibiting less ion suppression than these other sources. The Agilent Multimode Source is the first and only technology capable of operating electrospray ionization (ESI) and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) -- the two most widely used ionization modes -- simultaneously. |
