In the early 1980s, as plans were underway to launch AUSSAT, the first Australian satellite to introduce national radio and television to large tracts of inland Australia, senior Aboriginal people were very much aware of the risks they faced.
These include the launch of ASIASAT, AUSSAT, and AFRISAT.
