When Lebanese villagers returned to Bint Jbail in late August after the Israelis left, they not only found their homes and shops destroyed, and the town hospital leveled, but a scrawled message saying "We will come back. Clearly it was easier to blockade Yasser Arafat and his few untrained bodyguards in the Mukata'ah compound in Ramallah than to conquer Bint Jbeil over and over again.
