The executive who led the defence of plasterboard maker BPB against a hostile takeover bid has been named as the new boss of troubled catering giant Compass. THE pounds 4bn takeover of BPB means that more than pounds 11bn of UK industrial assets have been sold in a string of deals over the past year. The London market advanced today as traders welcomed news that plasterboard maker BPB had ditched its opposition to being taken over by a French rival. |
