The Indian subsidiary is part of Yokohama's strategy for strengthening its market presence in the large-population, fast-growth BRIC economies (Brazil, Russia, India and China), which are on track to overtake the G7 in economic scale this century.
Following the establishment in January this year of OMRON's new sales subsidiary in New Delhi, India, this latest announcement represents a further commitment by OMRON to serving its customers in the burgeoning BRIC markets.
If conditions are truly different this time, the factor most often cited is the growth of consumerism and economic development in the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China).
