The baby-led weaning movement advocates, in a nutshell, giving infants solid finger food and allowing them to master eating for themselves, rather than spoon-feeding them purees.
I eschewed baby-led weaning for two reasons: the first is something my best friend, J, said.
Baby-led weaning may be a gradual process of outgrowing breastfeeding, or it may be "cold turkey," as in a "nursing strike" (baby's sudden refusal to breastfeed -- this may be temporary or permanent).
