Studies at the Biosurgical Research Unit at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend showed how effective sterile maggots can be in treating wounds.
The sterile maggots are bred in the Biosurgical Research Unit (BRU) at Bridgend's Princess of Wales Hospital and have been used on patients with burns, pressure sores, ulcers, surgical and orthopaedic wounds for the past few years.
