CHICAGO -- Farmacule BioIndustries, a Brisbane-based agbiotech company developing molecular farming technology to cost effectively mass produce high-value proteins, biofuels and bioplastics in plants for various applications, has introduced INPACT, its patented gene activation technology, at the 2006 Biotech Industry Organization annual conference in Chicago.
Dr Tony Coulepis, Executive Director of Ausbiotech, the premier Australian biotech industry organization, said no better opportunity exists to see Australian biotech at its most impressive and to access the latest thinking and key people all at the one event.
Although some biopharmaceuticals have already lost their patent protection and are open to generic competition, the Biotech Industry Organization argues that producing biologics is still such a complex task that generic firms should have to prove their safety and effectiveness.
