Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) was used to measure the blood oxygen level-dependent response to anticipated and delivered rectal distention in 14 female IBS patients and 12 healthy controls (mean age 36 years).
Multiple sclerosis: low-frequency temporal blood oxygen level-dependent fluctuations indicate reduced functional connectivity initial results.
As well, evidence indicates that the alteration in cerebral oxygenation and blood volume during hand function corresponds closely with the blood oxygen level-dependent (BOLD) changes evident during functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) [4-5].
