The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) said it has addressed the issues brought up by the DoC and other internet groups such as the Boston Working Group and Open Root Server Confederation, which all called for changes to the bylaws to make the body more accountable to the internet community.
Komack has been the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Boston Working Group of SEMPO for the past year.
She argues that a membership-based organization controlled by a board that is elected by the membership, a model favored by groups such as the Open Root Server Confederation and the Boston Working Group (an offshoot of the IFWP process), would be appropriate for ICANN.
