Central Bank of Jordan CBJ Governor Umayyah Touqan said today Jordan had a sound and solid banking system with multi-faceted activities that contributed to comprehensive socio-economic development through financing all economic sectors.
The CBJ cut reserve requirements on commercial deposits, stopped issuing certificates of deposit since October last year and cut major benching rates to free up funds for lending to spur growth.
