Recent studies indicate that the average industrial consumer experiences 8 power-quality events each year (EPRI CEIDS, Cost of Power Disturbances), costing between US$10,000 and $30,000 per event for pulp and paper processes, and from $10,000 to $50,000 per event for plastics and semiconductor manufacturers. We are looking forward to working together with the CEIDS partners, industry participants, government agencies and societal stakeholders to help define the functional needs for the power grid of the future. |
