The CNBD contains a fold consisting of a short a-helix (the A-helix), followed by an eight-stranded ß-roll, a short B-helix, and a long C-helix. In this channel, CNBD inhibits channel activity by a mechanism that depends on the C-linker/CNBD interactions: binding of cAMP relieves this inhibition and shifts the voltage dependence by ~ + 17 mV to less negative values (15,16). |
