While many traders are bearish on copper markets heading into next year, a recent report from Reuters quotes Codelco, the world's biggest copper miner, as saying the global market for the metal will remain in balance through next year, keeping prices at a "high" level. Since then, general manager Sandro Spadafora estimates they've sold more than 200 toilets to the likes of Inco, Falconbridge (now Xstrata Nickel), West Virginia coal miners Consol Energy and Codelco, Chile's state-run national copper corporation, as well as the U. In Chile, Codelco, the government copper miner, can't spend fast enough on electricity even more so given the precarious state of natural gas supplies from Argentina and Bolivia. |
