As the TRADOC program manager for Career Program 19 (physical security and law enforcement), the CPMD initiated a pilot program designed to improve the skills of security and law enforcement professionals through the credentialing process. The main software at the Center for Natural Sciences that requires the speed and shared memory of SGI Altix technology includes Gaussian(R), an electronic structure program used in chemistry, materials science and nanoscience research and CPMD (Car-Parrinello Molecular Dynamics), a code particularly suited to large scale molecular dynamics. CPMD has been certified to run on many architectures including 32-bit Intel clusters of PCs, SGI's Altix 3000 family of global shared-memory, 64-bit Itanium2, and high performance compute servers. |
