The Commission also administers financial aid awareness and outreach programs, such as Cal-SOAP
and Cash for College, in collaboration with business, private industry and community-based organizations.
Since 2005, the Foundation -- the largest of its kind in California -- has provided more than $7 million in scholarship program funding to Commission-related programs, such as the California Cash for College and Cal-SOAP
outreach programs to encourage financially needy students to apply for state and federal aid.
The Commission's Cal-SOAP
is an early outreach program for grades 7-12 that helps plant the seeds about post- secondary education and financial aid while raising achievement levels of low- income, elementary and secondary school students.
