Improved case identification could lead to future studies to determine potential environmental, social, and economic risk factors, which would allow prevention and control efforts to be focused on vulnerable populations. In its conclusion, the study stresses that phase-specific treatment and case identification strategies to reduce the delay in treatment "are likely to substantially improve outcome in non-affective psychotic disorders compared with what has been reported with traditional approaches" of treatment. According to WHO, both countries have achieved high rates of case identification and cure, even where the technology and public health infrastructure are inadequate. |
