According to the authors, the results of this survey suggest that neither type of health care plan completely met the perceived needs of children with special health care needs and their families.
States may include additional benefits, including many of the services that benefit children with special health care needs, such as medical equipment, home nursing, physical and occupational therapy, dental services and many others.
The goals of Any Baby Can are, first, to ensure that these children receive the resources they need to reach their maximum potential, and second, to enable families to manage the challenges of caring for their children with special health care needs through family support.
