The ERX features leading-edge technologies, such as Intelligent Service Quality of Service (IS QoS), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Subscriber Class Based Queuing (S-CBQ) and Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS).
Leveraging the ERX's new Subscriber Class Based Queuing (S-CBQ) technology and wire-speed ASIC-based architecture, Quality of Service can now be extended to the individual subscriber level, a significant increase in scalability.
White will outline the limitations of traditional class based queuing and First-In First Out (FIFO) queuing, discuss the needs for source-based policy routing, and provide an example of how to implement per-flow queuing and carrier-class routing to successfully implement open access and support multiple providers over shared cable infrastructure.
