BOSTON -- Mobixell Networks, a recognized leader in mobile multimedia adaptation, optimization, and delivery solutions for mobile services, announced today that it has signed a worldwide license agreement with QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq:QCOM) for the right to use certain QUALCOMM Code Excited Linear Prediction (QCELP(TM)), and Enhanced Variable Rate Vocoder (EVRC) audio coding patents owned by QUALCOMM.
The LD-CELP mode utilizes the Low-Delay Code Excited Linear Prediction algorithm enabling toll-quality voice on 16 kbit/s bandwidth and providing better performance than standard ADPCM at higher bit rates.
Our previous agreement with Nuera covered voice modules and software to deliver code excited linear prediction (CELP) and adaptive transform coding (ATC) voice compression at 5.
