A national bronze medalist at 200m and a gold winner at the Commonwealth Youth Games last year, Katy has a busy build up to the meet as she is competing at the tough National Youth and Senior Championships on the two days before, again in her main events.
Emerging stars who will lay down their credentials include Commonwealth Youth Games bronze medallist Tommy Stubbs (Northside ABC, Manchester), World junior bronze medallist Gamal Yafai (Birmingham Police), Commonwealth Games silver medallist Darren Langley (Hollington ABC, London) and Liverpool's own England number one lightweight Tom Stalker (St Aloysius).
But the 17-year-old from Glasgow, selected to compete for Scotland in the 1500 metres and 3000m at last year's Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India, has decided to concentrate on the latter.
