The pair unfurled a banner promoting Sunderland's campaign after completing the challenge, which they did to raise funds for charity Comrades of Children Overseas (COCO).
The trip will be raising money for Comrades of Children Overseas (COCO) - a charity set up by athlete Steve Cram to educate poor children in Tanzania.
In doing so the runners will improve their fitness while also raising money for the charity COCO, Comrades of Children Overseas, of which Steve is chairman.
