BMW Group, Landshut, Germany, purchased a DFB furnace for its decoring operation from Consolidated Engineering Co. This transceiver uses 1550nm DFB lasers and APD receiver technology, and is designed for 80 km SONET OC-48 LR-2 (SDH STM L-16. The AG-1 laser has 100-times more signal precision than standard DFB lasers, making it well suited for applications that need both durability and precision such as seismic surveying for oil & gas or military applications, high-precision optical test systems or high-bandwidth fiber-optic communications systems. |
