Abed Rabbo, a founding member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), led a faction that broke away from the DFLP in 1991 to form FIDA--the Palestinian Democratic Group--which aligned itself with Fatah over relations with Israel.
Abdel-Muhti candidly supports the Palestinian struggle, and in particular the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, an armed faction commonly referred to as the DFLP that has carried out attacks against Jewish settlers in the West Bank.
The left-wing guerrilla organizations - particularly the DFLP and the PFLP - opposed the relationship on the grounds that the benefits accrued disproportionately to Jordan.
