For DINP as currently used, its full report flatly states that there is "no concern" for adults, children and infants. Steroidogenesis in fetal male rats is reduced by DEHP and DINP, but endocrine effects of DEHP are not modulated by DEHA in fetal, prepubertal and adult male rats. A Chronic Hazard Advisory Panel (CHAP) convened by CPSC reported in June 2001 that "for the majority of children, the exposure to DINP from DINP-containing toys would be expected to pose a minimal to non-existent risk of injury. |
