The 3d Infantry DISCOM was the first logistics brigade in the Army to begin modular conversion (in conjunction with the modular conversion of the 3d Infantry Division's headquarters and brigade combat teams [BCTs]) shortly after its return from Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
