As the name suggests, a DPSP distributes (or shares) some of the profits that the corporation earns every year with key employees.

2,000 per calendar year of employment up to and including 1995 (part years count as full years); plus * an additional $1,500 per calendar year of employment up to and including 1988, when employer contributions to an RRP or DPSP did not "vest" in the employee (when the employee becomes entitled to eligible pension benefits, including the employer's contribution, his or her pension is said to be "vested").
