The JFK Special Warfare Center and School's Army Special Operations Forces Language Office, or ARSOFLO, in conjunction with the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, has developed a new learning aid designed to assist ARSOF Soldiers in learning a foreign language. According to Scott McGinnis of the Defense Language Institute in Washington, "Chinese is strategic in a way that a lot of other languages aren't," because of China's rapid growth as a military and economic power.
