Omega 3 consumption appears to reduce the risk of LDL-c oxidation by reducing diacylglycerol acyltransferase (DGAT) activity in the liver.
As in the case of nobiletin, natsudaidain inhibits the production of triacylglycerol (Figure 3A) by decreasing diacylglycerol acyltransferase activity in hamster sebocytes (data not shown).
In a mouse study, ECE inhibited diacylglycerol acyltransferase (DGAT), reduced blood sugar, reduced fat cells and fat resorption, and decreased the number of fat cells during the feeding period.
