One optical method -- called the Nomarski differential interference contrast system -- splits light rays into two separate beams that pass in parallel through a specimen. Observation techniques of the FR3200 include Bright Field, Dark Field, Differential Interference Contrast (Nomarski), Confocal, UV and Multi-Band UV, allowing the user to observe inspection points and defects under a wide variety of optics, magnifications and illumination. By using an enhanced version of a technique called differential interference contrast microscopy, they can observe molecular-scale movements to a precision of a few nanometers. |
