She has been an active voice on the digital divide and electronic commerce through her participation in the World Economic Forum's Task Force on the Digital Divide, the G8 Digital Opportunity Task Force, and other international forums. s Digital Opportunity Task Force today announced the creation of the DOT Force Entrepreneurial Network (DFEN), an organization to help small- and medium-sized enterprises ("SMEs") and entrepreneurs overcome the "Digital Divide" and stimulate economic and social growth in developing countries. The Digital Opportunity Initiative was launched in July 2000 in response to last year's G8 Summit, which adopted the Okinawa Charter on the Global Information Society and created the G8 Digital Opportunity Task Force (Dot Force). |
