Thanks to the strength of her work, Erica competed twice in the Discovery Young Scientist Challenge (DCYSC) for top middle school science fair winners.
The Discovery Young Scientist Challenge (DCYSC) is intended to discover and reward the top 10% of the middle school participants (5th- 8th graders) who have conducted sound scientific research and who are able to best communicate about science.
Benjamin Steele, one of America's 40 top young scientists, was an invited guest at the third annual Discovery Young Scientist Challenge, competing for America's Top Middle School Scientist of the Year in Washington D.
