Aware of these discrepancies and needing accurate data on the number of citizens with visual impairment residing in Florida who are potential users of their services, the Florida Division of Blind Services contracted with the author to conduct a study to identify the characteristics of the population of people with visual impairments in the state. Former clients who received post-secondary educational services from the Florida Division of Blind Services over a five-year period (1988-1992) and were closed in status 26 ("rehabilitated"), were identified. |
