Architecture becomes the focus onto which love, hate and the emotions in between are projected, the conscious or unconscious representation of conditions that have little to do with the drawing office and the building product. So, the Craigie Map Company became the drawing office for UBD, and John Craigie became Chief Cartographer of what developed into a powerful unit creating maps and guides. Together they should constitute a significant contribution to the literature of architecture and remind us that the drawing office is a key location for research. |
