Ethanol plants that are farther from feedlots sell dried distillers grains, but have to spend money on natural gas to dry them.
Called DDGS or Dried Distillers Grain with Solubles, this product has the potential to provide a useful feedstuff for local livestock.
The company also has plans to extract oil from dried distillers grains, a co-product of the ethanol process, for use in biodiesel production.
