Chemical composition of the pristine clay and the clay-based catalysts was determined using an electron probe micro-analyzer (EPMA) JXA-8800R (JEOL) Before EPMA measurements, all the samples were dried at 80[degrees]C under vacuum to remove absorbed water, and then the clays were molded into a shape of disk.
