ESPA at Acqualina (the UK-based company's first full service spa in the US) features 11 treatment rooms, an outdoor spa veranda with a Jacuzzi and fresh-water pool. ESPA communications director Joe Tarver insists that with Democratic assembly speaker Sheldon Silver and Republican senate majority leader Joe Bruno rubber-stamping most of the enormously popular governor's initiatives, they would do the same on the gay rights bill. After receiving complaints that some Red Cross workers were dismissing claims by same-sex surviving partners, the Empire State Pride Agenda, a New York gay and lesbian rights group, met with the agency and asked officials to put their non-discrimination pledge into specific guidelines, says ESPA spokesman Joe Tarver. |
