The conference, was organized by EDANA (International Association for the Nonwovens and Related Industries) and supported by EFHSS (European Forum for Hospital Sterile Supply), EORNA (European Operating Room Nurses Association), EUCOMED
(European Medical Technology Association), WHO (World Health Organization) and several national health care departments and associations.
In a communique released on October 18, several associations representing sectors affected by the draft Directive on the recycling of batteries and accumulators - Eurobat, JBCE (Japan Council Business in Europe), EHIMA, EPBA (European portable battery association), TIE (Toy Industries of Europe) EUCOMED
(the medical technologies industry) and CPHE (Permanent European Horological Committee) also called for a decision on a unit of measurement (grams or percentages) for setting collection targets.
The second proposal was offered in 1999 by EUCOMED
(the European Confederation of Medical Device Associations), Brussels, Belgium, which offers information about the formation of a "Funding and Reimbursement Working Group.
